Butter, with a side of Bread // Easy family recipes and reviews.: HOW TO PEEL A PEACH

Friday, July 20, 2012

I have been immersed in peaches this week and can't wait to share some recipes with you all! However, first I thought it'd show you the easiest way to peel a peach. Most recipes that include peaches first require you to peel them. Instead of grabbing a knife and going to work, there is a much, much easier way to remove the skin.

I've attached a brief video showing you how it's done.

To summarize:
  1. Boil a pot full of water
  2. Immerse ripe peaches for 30-60 seconds.
  3. Remove from water. You can submerge the peaches in cold water, but if you're planning on cooking the peaches anyways, it's not necessary and eliminates a step, making the process faster.
  4. Pinch the skin to break it and slide it off the peach.
  5. Cut the peach in half and remove the pit.
