Tiger Butter made from 3 ingredients that are melted & swirled together. Gorgeous holiday candy recipe with great peanut butter chocolate flavor.
Tiger Butter is one of the easiest holiday candies you can make! If you’ve never made, or maybe even never heard of Tiger Butter, add these items to your grocery list and make it! It’s such a simple candy and everyone just devours it. It’s super creamy with amazing flavor and hello, it’s also insanely pretty. Oh and did I mention it takes just 3 ingredients and about 5 minutes to make?! Talk about a winner!
Tiger Butter
- 1 bag vanilla chips (11 oz)
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Line a bakers quarter sheet (or a 9×13 glass pan) with parchment paper or foil.
- Put semi sweet chocolate chips in a small glass bowl. Microwave for 1 minute and stir gently until smooth. Set aside.
- Pour vanilla chips in a medium sized glass bowl. Microwave for 1 minute 30 seconds. Stir gently until smooth. Add peanut butter and stir until well combined and smooth.
- Pour vanilla-peanut butter mixture onto the prepared pan. Mixture won’t reach the edges of the pan and that’s OK. Once it’s settled, take the melted semi sweet chocolate and pour it onto the vanilla-peanut butter mixture in lines.
- Take a knife and run it the opposite direction of the chocolate lines you created, to achieve a swirl pattern. Run your knife through the mixture as much as you’d like, to create your desired swirl pattern.
- Let cool either on the countertop or in the fridge. Cut into small squares. Store in an airtight container.

They’re just vanilla flavored white chocolate chips- you can find them on the baking aisle by all the other bags of chocolate chips at any grocery store!

Does the finished fudge have a creamy “fudgy” texture?
It does! I know some people on FB are commenting, saying it’s not fudge, but truly, that’s the exact texture. I made mine thinner because that’s always how I’ve seen Tiger Butter in candy shops, but you can make it thicker like fudge. It’s just pretty rich, so keep that in mind! It’s DELICIOUS!!!
I’ve made this for years. Always a huge hit! I make mine with crunchy peanut butter but both are wonderful.
I prefer the crunchy PB too… the rest of my family likes the creamy version! 😉 Dang it!
How long does this keep for? I want to make some to put in cellophane bags and give as gifts 🙂
After a week sitting on the counter I put what was left in the fridge and we slowly munched on it for a little over a week- so it stays good for a long time!
Can you just use white chocolate chips?? I can’t find vanilla chips anywhere!! Maybe I’ll add a splash of vanilla extract…either way, I’m sure it’s delicious!
White chocolate chips and vanilla chips are the same thing- you’re good to go!
It will work the same but they are not the same thing. Vanilla chips are vanilla flavor, white choc chips are white but chocolate flavor.
Can you use better instead of peanut butter? I’m allergic to all nuts.
I don’t think it’d quite work out the same if you used butter in place of the peanut butter. Dang it!
Peanuts aren’t nuts. Are you allergic to nuts AND legumes? Just curious.
Try sunnut butter, or try Sneaky Chef which is made with golden peas. Available at Target and online. The people in my house prefer Sneaky Chef. We have peanut and tree nut allergies around here as well. Lots of subs available. 🙂
You can use Sun Butter. It’s made from Sunflower seeds. It’s a tasty substitute.
THanks Karen!
I’m sure you could use a nut butter .. possibly butterscotch chips if not white choc. Chips .. i might have done the last one but its been 20 plus yrs . Way too long as they’re delicious!!! Hope you see this as it’s an old post
I add Reese’s pieces candies on top before it sets…so yummy!!
Great idea!!
Sounds easy enough for me. Love short & simple recipes. Anything with Chocolate & Peanut Butter makes it the best.
Thanks,
I hope you try it- sounds like you’ll love it!
I read over a recipe and think—-well damn, it has peanut butter in it–lol. I like peanut but on toast, not near my chocolate…
LOL!! To each her own, right?! You might be surprised though, it really is very good… 😉
Would it work omitting the peanut butter? Because I have a peanut allergy.
Can you use a different type of butter in its place? Because I think it’d work fine! Sunflower butter or something?
Almond or cashew butters 🙂
Can’t wait to try it.
look good going to try
Just made a batch and licked the spoon, YUM! Can’t wait to sample the finished product.
LOL!! I hope you liked it!
Would love be use caramel chips !
GREAT idea!!
I think a Great alternative for peanut butter would be Biscoff. Yummy..Also like the caramel idea too..
Could I use 8 oz of ghiradellie white chocolate instead of those vanilla flavored chips? I have that, and not a big fan of the vanilla flavored chips as they do not taste anything like “REAL white chocolate..
of course!!
Oops..!! Sorry..meant to say 11 oz not 8..:)
I only have peanut butterer and peanut butter chips along with cocoa powder? Can i make it with cocoa lowder instead?
I’ve never tried it, so I’m not sure how it would turn out.
[…] you are looking for a quick treat check out the recipe this Tiger butter fudge, you won’t be […]
I use the white almond bark and dark chocolate chips and it is delicious. I had never heard of this until 2 months ago from my husbands best friends and his mom makes it as described above then i ran across this with the white chips so now im going to try it your way. It all was ate in one day if it lasted that long
I hope you like it Karen! It’s a fun recipe- super simple to make and SO GOOD. 🙂
I was confused about the vanilla chips being the same as white chocolate chips …good thing I got them cuz when I couldn’t find em I almost didn’t get them. But anyways they came out really well. Before I actually mixed the chocolate in I thought maybe the vanilla mixture was too brown compared to your photos but after it was all said and done it actually turned out just like the picture lol I love when that happens…anyways thanks for the super easy tasty recipe.
So glad it all worked out and that you enjoyed it Christopher!
As anyone tried putting cream cheese in with the rest of the ingredients
Yummmm! What a good idea!
Thanks Erin!
They looks amazing and yum!
Could you put crushed up pretzels in the white layer? I think the saltiness from the pretzels would give it a great flavor.
You sure can! Just know that your swirls will look a bit different being as there will be chunks of pretzel in the mixture. 😉
Thanks Jessica! I doubled the recipe but made as is for my husband’s work Christmas party. Apparently there was a good contest and everyone was automatically entered and behold I WON! I hope you have another easy recipe for me around this time next year to reclaim my victory! Thank you!
Oops food contest….not good contest…
What?! That’s AWESOME Laura!! So cool! Glad everyone liked it!
Make no mistake this is not fudge, this is peanutbutter swirl chocolate.
I make it with Hersey’s white chocolate chops. It is tastes good, BUt……
The measurements and directions are to use a 9 x 13 pan, making this on a pan this large, well, end result your results will be REALLY thin… more like chocolate peanutbutter bark.
So, if you try to make this in a smaller pan thereby making it thicker, you end up with WAY too much dark chocolate… I like the ingredients but this is neither fudge ir a chocolate square, it is Bark…
The photos and the recipe measurements and directions all go together to help people understand what it looks like. I gave an explanation on the whole bark/ fudge thing in the beginning. If you expect a bark, you might be disappointed because it’s much softer than traditional bark. In our family, we call it a fudge. To each his own- what matters most is that everyone enjoys it, right? 🙂
[…] Tiger Butter Fudge […]
Do have to use all glass bowls and glass pan
You don’t *have* to, but it makes melting easier since those bowls retain heat better. So you end up with smoother chocolate and less likelihood of scorching it. 🙂
Just made this for the first time. YUMMY and so easy to make.
Maggie, I’m not sure it’s fair to rate this “2 stars” because you’re disappointed after changing Jessica’s prep instructions. That’s not on her. Prepared as instructed, this is a lovely, quick addition to the dessert buffet!! I’m certain that the other purists out there will be able to discern the difference between “real” fudge and this time-saving delicious imposter. ????
🙂 thank you!!!
This was not nearly enough for a 9 x 13 pan and did not harden. A slpooy mess and waste of ingredients.
Aside from sharing a fabulous recipe you’ve also demonstrated what it means to be a gracious lady whether you’re making peanut butter bark or fudge. Instead of splitting hairs and trying to bring anybody down, you are spreading the love. The positivity and good energy and intent that you put out will echo and touch so many lives. It’s a beautiful thing. Thank you for sharing. I know that whenever peanut butter fiddle diddle extravaganza -whatever it’s called, comes up I’ll remember both lessons that I learned today from you and good ol’ Mags. ???? You’re awesome.
Thank you Karina. 🙂
I just made the recipe today. Wow! The only issue I had was that it didn’t cut neatly. No one will ever know, though, because I took it upon myself to (ahem) “clean up” those rough edges. Excellent and easy! Thanks!
Hi Kara! Next time stick it in the fridge for 5 minutes or so, then cut. 🙂 Although it sounds like you made the best of it! I’m so glad you enjoyed it.
